Chess
Does this guy really have a whole page on his website dedicated to chess? Yep.
I learned to play chess when I was 20 years old. Since then, I have spent thousands of hours playing both online and in-person. I bring a mini chess board in my backpack everywhere I travel, and I love to play with strangers that I meet.
I play speed-chess. I believe this is how chess is meant to be played. If you take nothing else away from this, let it be that chess absolutely, categorically, MUST be played with a clock. Chess is the original game of war, and as such, players should not have unlimited time to decide upon a course of action after the opponent attacks. Evaluating how to proceed under time pressure is what makes chess a swashbuckling, romantic game. That’s where all the drama lies. Here are some of my best games.
Win against FIDE Master Evgeny Ermolaev
Win against Women’s FIDE Master and Youtuber Anna Cramling, featuring a common opening trap in the Jobava london system.
Win against Women’s FIDE Master Ecrin Efsa Büyük with a fun checkmating tactic.
Loss against International Master John Bartholomew. I credit John’s youtube channel for getting me into chess more than 12 years ago, and it was a full circle moment to play him to an equal position after 40 moves, which I eventually lost in a time scramble.
